Spend an evening celebrating the Raiders Rojos Alumni Network at its 25th Jubilee Gala (2000 - 2025) on January 30 at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center. The evening started with a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
Guests of honor for the evening were Bill Dean, former president & CEO of the Texas Tech Alumni Association; Kent R. Hance, chancellor emeritus of the Texas Tech University System; Curt Langford, current president & CEO of the TTAA; John T. Montford, former chancellor of the Texas Tech University System; and Lawrence Schovanec, current president of Texas Tech University.
The gala was an amazing event that was fully sold out, which included Raiders Rojos raising over $30,000 toward Scholarship Endowments, funds to continue its Educational Programming in the Lubbock ISD schools, and operating costs to grow its reach and impact for years to come.
Raiders Rojos also wants to take a moment to thank its title sponsor for the event: Action Gypsum Supply!
Raiders Rojos, a network of the Texas Tech Alumni Association up until September 2025, promotes the retention and graduation attainment of First-Generation students within the Texas Tech University System by providing a strong support system that includes, but is not limited to, scholarship, mentoring, and networking opportunities. The network hosts its signature event — Raiders Rojos Graduation Convocation — each fall and spring, presenting each participating graduate with a cultural stole to wear during commencement ceremonies.
