The Raiders Rojos Scholarship Program has awarded well over half a million dollars to Texas Tech students since 2000, and is one of the most active Alumni Associations at Texas Tech with regard to scholarships awarded over the last 20+ years.

Each scholarship awarded is intended to serve as a retention scholarship for Texas Tech University, and is only awarded to students who have completed at least 2 semesters at Texas Tech, so our scholarships are not available to incoming freshmen.

While scholarship sponsors include individuals and businesses, most donors are alumni and their families, and many sponsors have been providing scholarships for over twenty years.

Criteria and Instructions on How to Apply: Applicants must be first-generation college graduates, U.S. citizens, must have completed 2 Full-Time Semesters (Minimum 12 Hrs/per semester) at Texas Tech University, so our scholarships are not open to incoming Freshmen, and applicants must boast a minimum GPA of 3.25. Individuals who have previously received a Raiders Rojos Scholarship are not eligible to apply again, as an individual cannot be selected more than once In addition, recipients are required to attend the annual recognition event to meet their scholarship sponsor as a way for donors to connect personally with the students. Creating a connection between donor and recipient has been the hallmark of our Scholarship Program, and is something that scholarship sponsors look forward to each year.

Scholarship Applications OPEN every year on May 1st, the deadline to submit is June 30th, recipients are notified by August 1, and then the Scholarship Recognition Event, where you meet your Scholarship Sponsors, is usually on the Saturday before the start of Fall classes.

Raiders Rojos is proud of every single recipient of its scholarships, with recipients boasting an amazing graduation rate of 99%.

For the 2025 - 2026 Academic Year, Raiders Rojos awarded a Record Number 28 Scholarships, totaling $56,000 to current students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees at Texas Tech University.

2025 was a banner year and is continued proof of just how far our reach and support have come, compared to our first year when we awarded 3 Scholarships totaling $1500 in 2000.

Over the last 25 years, Raiders Rojos has awarded over a Half a Million Dollars in scholarships to deserving Red Raiders, and we are nowhere close to being done.

Over the past 20+ years, the Raiders Rojos Alumni Association has been proud to have over 100 Individuals, Families, and Businesses sponsor over Half-a-Million Dollars in scholarships to 100s of Red Raiders to support them along their educational journey.

Since their graduation, scholarship recipients have gone on to become doctors, lawyers, educators, and business owners - many have even gone on to pay it forward and become annual scholarship donors themselves.

In 2025-26, we added multiple first-time donors who helped us offer a record number of 28 Scholarships to students, and $56,000 total to our recipients.
