The 25th Annual Raiders Rojos December Graduation Convocation was an amazing event, that started with the serenade of the Mariachi de Oro group from Lubbock High School, who played before the start of the Convocation and also played the processional music that ushered the graduates into the hall. Raiders Rojos welcomed close to 100 graduates and their family and friends into the Frazier Alumni Pavilion on the campus of Texas Tech, with around 400 guests total for the winter celebration.

To mark the beginning of the newly rebranded Raiders Rojos Alumni Association, and it starting its own 501(c)(3), the Board of Directors will be releasing a Quarterly Newsletter to keep its members and our supporters abreast of all the upcoming events, recaps from educational programming and alumni events, and overall, help to inform our membership of how to stay involved. Raiders Rojos was interviewed and featured in the Daily Toreador, the student newspaper at Texas Tech, to outline and review the changes it has undergone since the Texas Tech Alumni Association was absorbed by Texas Tech in September 2025. Find the Full article below:

In September/October 2025, Raiders Rojos entered a new era: we rebranded with a new Double R logo, established our own independent 501(c)(3) organization under the new name Raiders Rojos Alumni Association, opened an off-campus office in Downtown Lubbock, and began a fresh chapter under the leadership of the 2025–2027 Board of Directors.

For the 2025 - 2026 Academic Year, Raiders Rojos awarded a Record Number 28 Scholarships, totaling $56,000 to current students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees at Texas Tech University at its annual Scholarship Breakfast held at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center on the campus of Texas Tech.

Raiders Rojos took part in sponsoring different elements of the Exhibit that had a home at the Texas Tech Museum from February 15 - August 24, 2025, including hosting a poetry night where local students from around Lubbock and its surrounding towns performed original poetry based on their impressions and viewing of the art from the exhibit. With many of the poems written and performed in Spanish, the evening saw over 2 dozen students perform in the Museum theatre. It was a beautiful night of poetry that Raiders Rojos was proud to be a sponsor of.

Serving the Lubbock and Tech communities since 2000, Raiders Rojos is proud to introduce you to the new 2025-27 Board of Directors. Look out for Board features coming in the Spring 2026 newsletter.

Raiders Rojos had another successful Fall May 2025 Convocation, this year hosted at the Overton Hotel & Conference Center. With the new guidance from the US Department of Education stating affinity groups could not have graduation events on campus, Raiders Rojos was forced to move its signature event to an off-campus location for the first time in decades. But, we did not go far, as we moved across the street and utilized the beautiful ballroom that is a part of the Overton’s Tech-themed hotel.

Raiders Rojos has been serving Lubbock ISD schools for over 2 decades, providing students a chance to come on campus for programming that gets them college ready. Our goal is to continue to foster and build up our future Red Raiders through these programs that target to K-12 students. This event, brought 100s of Elementary Students from LISD schools Wolffarth, Anita Carmon-Harrison, and McWhorter Elementaries on campus to participate.

Raiders Rojos has been serving Lubbock ISD schools for over 2 decades, providing students a chance to come on campus for programming that gets them college ready. Our goal is to continue to foster and build up our future Red Raiders through these programs that target to K-12 students. This event, brought 100s of 8th Graders from LISD on campus to participate.

Raiders Rojos Celebrated 25 Years during its 25th Jubilee Gala. The event brought together over 300 attendees, speakers, and special guests who gathered to celebrate all that Raiders Rojos has accomplished in its 25 years since its founding in 2000.
